About the Brand
Trollbeads is a popular jewelry brand run as a family business by the Nielsen/Aagaard family.
The story of its establishment dates back to 1976, in Copenhagen, Denmark, when Soren Nielsen created the first Trollbead called 'Faces' which was sold at his father's jewelry shop. It was so called due to the 6 different faces showed as you turn the bead on the bracelet. These include happy, sad and angry faces, which are representative of emotions we feel in daily life.
Instead of following the fashion trend back then, Nielsen came up with a new idea - to place an opening through the center of the bead - which inspired his sister Lise Aagaard, who then founded Trollbeads and opened her own jewelry store. One day, upon a customer's request, more than one bead was added to her bracelet. This created the "bead on bracelet" concept which has revolutionized the jewelry world and captured the hearts of females worldwide.
Today Trollbeads is established in more than 400 cities worldwide.

Trollbeads uses 18 karat gold, gemstones and Murano artisan glass beads handmade by skillful craftsmen worldwide to create high quality and durable pieces of art.
2. The versatile Trollbeads bracelet
Trollbeads bracelet's special design allows beads from other manufacturers to fit easily, whereas Pandora's bracelet is screwed, preventing other manufacturers' beads from being added to it. Thomas Sabo Karma Beads Bracelet's operates in a similar concept to that of Trollbeads. However, the Karma beads have tiny holes, which are not compatible with any other charm bracelet, not even Trollbeads' versatile chain.

4. Creativity in Charm Designs
Trollbeads charms are more creative and playful in the sense that they are inspired by abstract art, stories, legends, myths and folklore, whereas Pandora plays it safe by featuring easily-identified daily objects. Thomas Sabo, like Pandora, does produce some nice charms but it does not take on abstract concepts like Trollbeads.

5. Detailed Silver Charms
Trollbeads' silver beads are more detailed than Pandora's and Thomas Sabo. Trollbeads pieces are also stunning and colourful in their own way, easy to pair with and timelessly elegant. If you know how much work and effort goes into creating a charm, you will learn to appreciate it.
