Twenty3.my Review

Have you heard of this online shop that sells mostly convertible dresses called Twenty3.my? If you're not sure what is a convertible dress, it's basically a dress that consists of a skirt attached with two long pieces of cloth that you're gonna use to wrap your upper body up with all sorts of twists and turns so it is pretty versatile.

Well, moving on from this, I'd like to write a review of Twenty3.my in general. Back in June, I helped my room mate placed an order on the a mint dress which was on sale for RM28.

After submitting the order and clearing the bill, the next day we received an email saying that Twenty3.my cannot post the item as it was defective and there isn't any other items in stock for that particular listing. It refunded us RM28 store credit.

I was quite displeased with this - a company of this scale should know better than to list a defective item or out-of-stock item, wait for the customer to pay up, then inform the customer oh sorry, it just happens that we ran out-of-stock! How ridiculous!

We requested the money paid to be transferred back into my room mate's bank account. And the customer service's reply was sorry, but it is our policy to refund in store credit. It wasn't even our fault in the first place and you denied us our right to reclaim our money. That just sucks.

But finally my room mate relented, as we only had three options: (1) let the money burn, (2) add more cash to purchase a more expensive piece (which may be out-of-stock too) or (3) choose something that is around the same price. So we went on with (3).

Now talking about  Twenty3.my designs, not many of them are actually pretty. Most usually have strange designs and cutting. The convertible dresses are quite elegant, but the price range is much higher. So my room mate finally settled with this dress cos it looks a bit like the previous one, only not as nice.

But when it came, again it was a disappointment. The fabric is thin and there isn't even an inner lining. And though we got it on sale at RM28, to think that the original price of RM59 they are selling this cheapo dress to customers, it just kills our mood. Luckily I didn't buy anything from them, or else I would have regretted it.

But anyway, if you ever decide to buy from them, remember to go one size smaller, as the lady boss who is a size M fits perfectly into their size S dresses as you can observe from the modelled pictures.

Twenty3 simply has no business ethics! Their materials are cheap yet price it so expensive. I feel like being cheated by them with their SALE bag or even normal price items. So disappointed. :(

Dear Anonymous, sad to hear about your less-than-perfect shopping experience! There's always a risk to online shopping, so I guess we must do all the homework before committing to an online purchase (read reviews, ratings etc.) Now I only buy from Zalora as they have good customer service even if anything goes wrong.

Yes! I am totally agree with you. Twenty3 selling overpriced items yet CHEAPO quality. My friend used to be their regular customer since long time ago but she just realized that Twenty3 selling price is getting more expensive day by day. Paying so much to sponsor all kind of bloggers is just the way they making themselves famous. I dont think they are famous because of "Premium Quality" .

Dear Anerly, I don't think I would want to buy anything from them. I don't trust them anymore after this incident. I've also seen people selling their second-hand Twenty3 dresses online, and from the real stock pictures, they are not as "high quality" as the website claims them to be. The material is easily crumpled and looks cheap.

agreed. The dress i bought from them look totally different from what i have seen on the display picture, and the material is really bad in quality.

Dear susu, I have nothing against them, but I will never be buying from Twenty3.my unless they upgrade the quality of their clothing. At this point of time (when their quality is still at a sucky level), I would rather shop for premium outfits from Zalora or Doublewoot (the only two online shops that I personally vouch for in terms of quality). And Zalora has some awesome deals sometimes! Get 15% off with code ZBAP1LO. First-time customers only.

would like to leave my 2 cents here too considering me too, had very bad experiences shopping with twenty3. I have bought from them like 3-4 times i think? have bought both the sale and non sale items and i have to say most of the time I was disappointed with the products. The products are either:
1) of low quality
2) stitch work is really bad
3) fitting is not true to size

I bought 4 pieces back from the previous sales and i have not been able to wear ANY of them. One maxi dress I purchased was soooo loose at back it might as well be L size instead of S, the other crop top color has faded to slightly greyish instead of black and white, the off shoulder dress so called 'satin' like material was really thin n of bad quality, the skort make me look bulkier n bigger on the hip because of its thicker material n pockets... i was so so disappointed but i did not bother to exchange, instead i told myself 'No More Next Time!' The reason i did not want to exchange is because i bought 2 dresses which weren't on sale from them before n one of it has really bad stitching where the dress would gather at the waist. So i sent them an email, they requested for a photo of the dress which i took, n gave the excuse that they normally have quality check on their items. when i got the sales products after, i knew the quality check excuse was bullshit so i didnt even bother complaining bout the products again.

We are conned by the photos on the website to buy their cheap quality products while the owner shops thousands worth of jacket overseas (i knew because i follow her bf's IG account).

Anyway, just sharing my experiences with them and definitely no more next time.

Dear Susu, I'm am really sad and frustrated for you to know that none of the clothes fit you! If it were me, I'd probably throw a fit of rage and lodge a complaint with Tribunal for Consumer Claims. Ughhhh that is so low of Twenty3, clearing off defective items at sale price. And yeah, I agree with you. They use the worn "satin" to describe "cheap, flimsy, plastic-like, sheer fabric" to make it sound classy. It's either they've never seen real satin before or they're downright liars.

Just for your knowledge, s32 Consumer Protection Act states that there is an implied guarantee that goods sold to buyer has to fulfill merchantable quality, and s33 states that it has to be fit for the purpose it was acquired. So if there is a breach of implied guarantee, you can practically sue them to get your money back (if you don't mind hiring a lawyer to do it)!

Just a note, next time when you make online purchases, do use Paypal, because if anything goes wrong, you can escalate the case to Paypal Claims, the related department will make an investigation and if it is found out that you have suffered loss due to the seller's fault, they might consider refunding you your money.

And you should totally lodge a complaint with the Consumer's Tribunal. It might raise some alarm on this company and the tribunal might investigate if many people lodge similar complaints. I'm using the word 'might' because I'm not sure on what condition would they start an investigation, but still it'd help a little.

dear aiks, that's not me commenting as anonymous, the dress I bought is still wearable but the quality is worst than some online famous web in PRC. Their display pictures deceive the purchaser easily I would say. now even if I saw some really looking nice design from twenty3 I won't dare to buy anymore. I saw some bad comments on twenty3facebook page and I really feel sorry for them.

Dear Susa, I apologize for my mistake in addressing the comments! Now that we know their real faces, no more buying from Twenty3 until they improve themselves!
